Intelligence

Every organization has relations to other organizations in some way or another, both negative and positive ones. In Mech Wars, we have three different relations; two positive, and one negative.

The negative relation is, obviously, the war relation. If you want to start war against another organization, you will first need to go to that organization's profile screen. This can be found in the Organization Directory, or, if it's an official organization, you can find it in the Organization Ladder. When you have found the organization's profile screen, go to the bottom of this screen. Here you will find three options: Initiate War, Offer NAP, and Offer Alliance.

To start a organization war, click on the Initiate War link. You will be asked to confirm your decision, and when you do, a game notification will be sent to every member of the target organization, telling them that your organization has initiated war against their organization. This relation will then be visible from both your organization and their organization's organization profile screen, as well as the global organization relation overview screen.

Whenever you are in a organization war, you have three options to end this. First, go to the Organization Relations screen (Relations in the Organization game menu). Here you will be presented with a list of relations that your organization currently have, including wars. To end a war, find the organization you have a war relation with, and click on one of the links beside it: Surrender, Offer Draw, and Offer Mercy. No matter what you choose, the other organization has to accept your offer. If the opposite organization rejects, the war goes on as usual.

The two positive relations in Mech Wars are Non-Agression Pacts (NAPs) and Alliances. The NAP relation basically mean that you will not attack the other organization, and vice versa. The Alliance relation is a much stronger relation, and means that in addition to not attack each others organizations, the organizations will fight together.

Setting up NAPs and alliances, are done in the same manner as you initiate a war. You go to the target organization's profile screen, and choose either Offer NAP or Offer Alliance. Unlike organization wars, which are in effect at the time you initiate them, NAPs and alliances are offers that need to be either accepted or rejected. The target organization will get a notification that your organization wishes to setup a relation with their organization, and will then go to the Organization Relations screen and make their decision there (either accept or reject). The outcome will be sent as a notification to you.

Leaving a NAP or alliance relation is done by going to the Organization Relations screen and selecting either Break or Cancel. Break is used for an unfriendly way of leaving the relation, and will automatically initiate a war on the organization. If you wish to leave the relation in a friendly manner, the Cancel method is used instead, and the opposite organization needs to Accept or Reject.
