As has been already mentioned, all messages are expired after a while (and will then be deleted). However, if you get a lot of messages (or send a lot, for the Outbox), you might want to clean it up once in a while. Cleaning up will in some cases make the Terra-Xi Instant Mail System quicker.

There are two ways of deleting messages. Single Delete and Mass Delete. The Single Delete feature let's you view a message, and then click on Delete to get rid of the message. This way is very useful if you are disciplined to delete messages as they come in.

The Mass Delete feature is much more handy if you are not so disciplined. You can do this in two ways: either you go to the Inbox (or the Outbox, whichever you're going to clean up), and then tick all the messages you want to delete and then click on Delete. All the messages you ticked will then be removed from the system.

The other way of performing mass deletion is from the drop-down menu below the message list. Here you have a range of options.

Read

This will remove all the messsages that you have already read. You can see which messages you have read by checking whether they are highlighted in the message list or not.

Unread

Selecting this will remove all message that you have not read. This can be useful if you have gotten a lot of spam: just read the messages you know are important, and then use this feature.

1 - 7 Days Old

These options can be used to get rid of messages that are older than either 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7 days.

All

This option can be used if you want to do a total cleanup in the mailbox you are viewing. No messages will be left after using this.

Please note that messages in the Outbox are automatically expired after one week, and hence the Seven Days Old option is of little use here.
