Members

Just like with organizations, it is important to always have people in your country. Due to the very short travel times within a country, you can get very easy defence should you get a lot of incomings. That is, if they have any units of course.

Unlike organizations, you cannot choose which country you wish to be in. Country members are like your family; you cannot choose them, they just exist. Organization members, on the other hand, are like your friends; you choose them at hand, and if you do not like them, you can always switch organizations and get new friends.

When you first join Mech Wars, you will be put in a random ward in a random country. This will be your home until the end of the season. If you don't like your country, there is not much you can do about it but try to cooperate with your countrymates and make the best out of it. It is not always that easy to get along with people you do not know, but it is possible — some countries even get along better than the best organizations.

Also unlike the organizations, there is not much you can do with your country members. You can't get any additional information on them, except their online status. The standard information, like their handle, coordinates, grade and score, is always available to everyone in the game. There is no such thing as privileges and roles in countries, with the only exception being the Country Commander.

The Country Commander is, unlike the Organization Leader, elected. There is no default commander in a country, he or she has to be elected by the country members. See Election for more details on this.

The country memberlist can be found on the Overview screen, in the Country game menu. Here you will see the country picture, as well as the list of members in the country. Clicking on the handle of a country member will give you the player's profile screen, where you will find more details about the person behind the player mask (like their real name, e-mail address, homepage URL, and so on).

Not only can you get a listing of the members in your own country, you can also get a list of members in other countries. Using the browse control on the Overview screen, you can change the country you wish to see. You can either enter the country's coordinates (1:1, for example), or you can use the arrow buttons to browse through the system. The only difference from your own country and other countries is that you cannot see the online status of players in other countries.
