Terra Center

The Terra Center is the place where you manage the development of your ward. You will be presented with a nice overview of all the resources you have, as well as the options you have from improving and enhancing your ward.

As you might remember from the resources chapter, the main resource is the credit, and to get credits you need Katai. The Terra Center is used to control your resources, and from here you have everything you need to maintain a healthy economy.

There are five "resources" (in addition to the Katai) that you will use to reap, refine, and store Katai and credits. All of these resources have three levels, and each of these levels will give you different values of whatever the resource is doing. For the reapers, for example, the different levels define how much Katai a reaper can reap per hour.

The first level is what you get when you are first able to build the resource. You will then need to research a technology, and then, at last, upgrade all your resources to the new level. As you might have understood, you will need to pay an upgrade cost for every resource you have. If you have 50 reapers, and want to upgrade them to a newly researched level, you will need to pay the upgrade cost times 50, plus the base upgrade cost of 25,000 credits.

Unlike the first incarnation of Mech Wars, the cost for new resources are not incremental, they are fixed. However, some of these resources have upkeep requirements, like the Reaper and the Refinery. A resource that has an upkeep requirement will need some kind of resource every hour in order to operate. If you cannot maintain the upkeep requirements, resources may be non-functional or, in the worst case, they may be lost.
