Recon

Reconnaissance (or recon for short) is one of the most important elements in strategy games. You must first locate the enemy, and then keep track of what they are doing. Locating a single player is quite easy in Mech Wars, as nobody actually moves from time to time. However, most attacks will be done as part of a clan war, and in these times you will need to track down all the members of the enemy clan.

Your first recon task is therefore to find the enemy. This is important so you will know whom to attack, and where they are. Most likely more important than where they are, is how strong they are. Use a basic spydrone, and you will get information about their warstrength and clan affiliation. The warstrength is composed of the number of units each player has, multiplied with the score attribute of every unit (check the Mech Stats and Base Defence Stats pages for details).

After you have found the enemy, and received some basic information about them, you can make decisions with the rest of your clanmates regarding who should attack who, or who you will all concentrate your forces on.

Watching the Enemy

Remember that it is very important to make periodic checks on the enemy to see how strong they are, and how well-developed they are. It is important to become familiar with with the tech tree so that you will know what the enemy is doing and how to counter it.

In other words: scout early, scout often.
