Terra-Xi

The Mech Wars world is situated on Terra-Xi, a reformed Earth. It is a planet that is rich on the oil Katai, which you will learn more about in the next chapter. But before we continue, you should know several things about your home planet.

Terra-Xi is, just as Earth was, covered with a lot of water. Even though the human civilizations have been able to lessen the size of the water versus the size of the land, there is still more water than land on Terra-Xi, and thus the planet is divided into continents.

The planet is also constantly expanding. We have no clues as to why this is happening, but it is. This is great, because it means that we no longer need to search other planets for places where new inhabitants can live. Every now and then a new continent is created, and this makes room for many new inhabitants.

Each continent has been divided into 45 countries. It was once tried to make the whole world into one huge country with a common control structure, however that failed miserably, and it is a miracle that we still have the division we have — it used to be a total anarchy.

Each country is divided into 20 wards, one of which you will be controlling and managing. That means that for every continent on Terra-Xi, there are room for 900 wards. Quite a size.

To minimize the problem with naming of new continents, countries and wards, the inhabitants of Terra-Xi developed a coordinate system. This three-component coordinate system is written as X:Y:Z, where the different components are:

X

The continent.

Y

The country.

Z

The ward.

So, for example, the first ward in the first country in the first continent will be written as 1:1:1.
